Happy Birthday Mom!

Soon there will be another grandbaby to cuddle!

And everyone gathered around shortly after we came home :)

Baby Room!

Baby room is ready!

Seems crazy to think that with PK we had a bookcase.  That was it.  The walls had been painted the weekend before.

This time.  Ready.

This was our office before.  I wasn't sure we were going to make things work in here since it is so small.  But happy to report, that I'm loving it!

I said right away this time that I was getting a recliner for the room, so that was our first purchase.  The dresser and crib got switched out from PK a few months after finding out about the baby.

Pictures were taken on my phone.  I will have to try to get some better pictures with blinds open or on my good camera.

Kris made the bookshelves (smaller versions of what we made for the toy room).

Dresser I left painted white and tan from PK's last room makeover.  The changing table is wood that my grandpa made when I was a baby.  Painted again :) I found a super soft navy blanket to keep in there too.  Curtains are navy and room darkening (work well).

The nightstand was one that my grandpa made when I was growing up.  Lamp got taken from the guest room. I made the bumper and crib skirt.  Then just enough room for the diaper trash and clothes hamper.

The name is made from metal pieces I found at the Junk Jubilee along with the frame (distressed gray).  The white frames I hope to put either a couple maternity photos in or newborn photos.

All the baby necessities in some baskets and made the changing pad to cover to match the crib with some gray minky.

And all the organization in the closet.  I have another wooden tote I'm painting to replace the diaper box on the cube shelf (last item in process).  Extra diapers, burp clothes, bibs, shoes, blankets, toys, scale and mobile are in the closet. (and 3 outfits that are hung up! ha!)

Otherwise I've filled the guest room with the all of the totes of clothes and stockpile of diapers.  I didn't figure it was worth having the extra clothes or diapers down two flights of stairs when we will be shuffling through them rather quickly the next year or so.

Ready for baby arrival anytime! :)

Baby #2 Update - Week 37

Can anyone really believe I'm here?  Kicking, complaining and pregnant at 37 weeks?!

I said that if I made it this far I was going to call my "insurance pregnancy program" nurse and give her my piece of mind...

Long story short - she called my doctor and told them that I needed to be on hormone shots every week so that I wouldn't go into preterm labor again (no discussion with me prior to this phone call they made on my behalf).  So I show up at doctor's office at 18 weeks and they are prepared to start sticking me in the butt with hormones... EXCUSE ME?!? My body, my pregnancy, my baby, my decision.  It wasn't pretty.  We haven't had the best relationship since that confrontation.  Needless to say, I'd like to shove the facts back in her face.  I made it to 37 weeks (which is only how long the shots supposedly get you to), so take that!

Anyways... moving on now that I'm all worked up about it again!

Due Date: August 27th

Weeks: 37 weeks (can anyone really believe that we will soon be holding a sweet baby boy in such short time!)

Doctor Report: Doctor tomorrow UPDATE: Doctor confirmed that we have a full term baby! We should have no issues or NICU stay!  Felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when she said that.  Whew.  Measured right at 37 weeks.

Gender: BOY

Name: First name has been decided, a middle name has not.

Total Weight Gain: Let's pretend this doesn't matter

Miss Anything: Everything.  Being a "normal" person.

Best Moment this Week: I feel like this whole post is negative... but I honestly can't think of a "best moment" this week... I guess that means I am ready anytime for the arrival!

Labor Signs:  Nope; though he's dropped even lower.  If that's possible.  I swear his head is resting on my pelvic bone, therefore, all pressure is on my left hip creating a lot of sharp pain.

Belly Button in or out: Completely flat

Maternity Clothes: Even those are starting to get to be slim pickings.  The baby has dropped because all my pants are tight around my lower abdomen.  Which isn't exactly comfortable when you are sitting all day.  The rest of the pant fits, just that seam where the stretchy meets the regular material isn't low enough anymore.

Sleep: Wishing I was.  A lot of hit and miss.

Food: Sweets over salt.

ExerciseNone

Pregnancy SymptomsI swelled up yesterday, pretty bad.  Fingers and feet.  Officially over the 9th month.

Happy or Moody: Lots of moodiness these past couple days.  It isn't pretty.  The psychic said that my moods are so strong that everyone within a twenty mile radius knows when I'm in a good mood and when I'm in a bad mood.  Well, I think they've figured it out... Monday - good, All downhill from there.

Movement: He's still making room to move and shove.  Getting quite painful.

What I'm Looking Forward To: Not being pregnant! (still the case ;))

Maternity Pics!

Last week my mom and dad met us out at Thomas Mitchell for some maternity pics (my mom took them, not my dad! :)).  Right at 36 weeks.  Got some pretty good ones.

No groping or kissing of the belly was happening.  That just gives me the hee-bee jee-bees.

This face.  I always will remember, as he sighs and leans into me :)

Baby #2 Update - Week 36

The boys were gone last weekend.
So I read a couple books, got my toes done and relaxed!

Due Date: August 27th

Weeks: 36 weeks

Doctor Report: Everything looks good, not dilated, cervix good

Gender: BOY

Name: First name has been decided, a middle name has not.

Total Weight Gain: Not looking (I lie, I looked today... and I'm pretending like I didn't)

Miss Anything: Sleeping in a comfortable position!

Best Moment this Week: Getting everything done!  List is 95% checked off (anything that is left does not NEED done before baby arrival)

Labor Signs:  Some pretty strong contractions and/or cramping every once in awhile.  Thought he was trying to make an appearance this morning but the activity died off.

Belly Button in or out: Completely flat

Maternity Clothes: Anything that fits.  Mostly dresses at work.

Sleep: I wish.

Food: Still eating.  Avoiding salty foods at this point.  Anything chocolate or fruit goes over well.

ExerciseNone.  I'm actually not doing anything!  And it's killing me ever so slowly.  I bought some new tennis shoes for my post baby walks.

Pregnancy SymptomsDefinitely can tell I'm pregnant.  Nothing new to report.

Happy or Moody: Morning - happy, afternoon - average, evening - moody

Movement: Still lots of movement.  Lots of pressure up on my right side under my ribs.  I keep telling Kris and PK that's where he is trying to escape.  I have to put pressure on the area to get him to calm down and curl back up.

What I'm Looking Forward To: Not being pregnant! (still the case ;))

Baby #2 Update - Weeks 34&35!

35 weeks?? WHAT?!?

IF we make it through this week I will have been the most pregnant I've ever been!

35 Week comparison

Due Date: August 27th

Weeks: 35 weeks

Doctor Report: Everything looks good, no concerns. Head down and should stay down now.

Gender: BOY

Name: First name has been decided, a middle name has not.

Total Weight Gain: Not looking

Miss Anything: Moving like a normal person, reaching my toes

Best Moment this Week: I think PK can sense things are changing (and not just the big belly :)).  I've been getting lots of extra cuddles and loving from my little man.  Anytime he can get some cuddles, he takes it!

Labor Signs:  Nope

Belly Button in or out: Completely flat

Maternity Clothes: Anything that fits.  Mostly dresses at work.

Sleep: Waking often, going to the bathroom every two hours most nights, on the hour.  10, 12, 2, 4, 6.  Some nights I don't sleep at all and some nights I sleep like a rock in between getting up.

Food: Smaller meals, more frequent.  No strong feelings one way or another with most food.

ExerciseNone.  The humidity has me too scared to move for fear of getting dehydrated.

Pregnancy Symptoms: Arms tingling most of the day, back pain, lots of tightness in my belly.  Sounds fun, right? :)  Last week I was on a hormonal rollercoaster.  Feeling better this week.  If you see my chin with a fresh zone of pimples watch out, that's all hormones and it ain't pretty!

Happy or Moody: Morning - happy, afternoon - average, evening - moody

Movement: Yes, lots of kicking/punching.  You would think he is running out of room, but no, making it work.  He's had the hiccups a few times :)

What I'm Looking Forward To: Not being pregnant!
