Negotiating
The past couple days we’ve noticed that PK not only understands what we are saying but can respond back. We’ve been negotiating with full response.
Sunday while eating supper: PK wanted more ketchup (eats by forkful) and we were eating cheeseburgers. 3 bites of cheeseburger, one scoop of ketchup. I told him to eat more hamburger for more and he shoveled it all in while saying “more, more” and pointing to the ketchup. He ended up eating over half of a cheeseburger and we really haven’t ever got him to eat much hamburger without it being in a meal.
Monday Morning: We were downstairs getting ready to leave for daycare and we had two blankets to decide which one to take with for nap time. I’d asked him which one he wanted to take and he grabbed both. I then tried again and he grabbed tighter to one and threw the other one down in a huff. Ha!
Talking
The talking/stories are getting so funny! He just seems so proud that he knows so many words that he just randomly says things. We were eating lunch yesterday and watching the start of the race. The National Anthem came on and he was “singing” throughout the whole thing. He will just say words and when you don’t guess right what he is saying he gets even more insistent and says it with more force.
Most Popular Mommy
In the month of May I was traveling for work two of the four weeks. Needless to say I think my boys missed me. I’ve got more love/attention than ever lately. We hear “my mommy” a lot! If Kris comes to give me a hug or a kiss I’ve got a little mini Kris on my other leg wanting the same attention. When I sit down I’ve got both beside me. As a person who “doesn’t mind” some time alone I will definitely take the attention while it lasts.
Camping
Parker is loving camping. I think it is going to be a lot of fun for him and us. I think the pure fact that when we are camping with have nothing else to do but spend time with him and be outside. We aren’t running around doing errands/cleaning the house/ putting a load of laundry in. It’s all about him – and we’re outside most of the time! Bonus. When we were camping this weekend he got to come up and get in bed with us after he woke up. Dosed us in kisses and got to jump around. We had breakfast while checking out the neighbors/birds from the big windows. Then we went on a walk to the pond and got to play on the playground. All while not being distracted by things that we “need” to do. I really think we will have fun.
